I don’t know about you, but sometimes life just gets too hectic to plan ahead for breakfast each morning. When I am working on a TV show with 7:00am call times, I am lucky to have enough time to drink some water or tea before flying out the door. Yes, I push the snooze a few too many times. Recently, I have been trying to make an effort to get some form of breakfast in, because I simply feel better throughout the day when I do.
One thing I always have on-hand are frozen bananas. It has become a habit to buy a dozen bananas at the beginning of week, let them fully ripen, then peel and freeze them for smoothies or a quick dessert. Recently, I started throwing two frozen bananas in a blender with some oats, cinnamon, and instant coffee. Yum. Then I started getting creative by adding other fun goodies, like cocoa powder, tonics, peanut butter, and vanilla protein powder. Even more yum!
I either sip on it while getting ready or driving to work. I find that the oats fill me up, while the healthy fat from the nut butter helps curb my appetite until lunch. I think you are going to love this smoothie.
